The view from our outside dining area at Sirheni bushveld camp, far and away our favourite. You can see that the perimeter fence is between us and the river, and the elephants came by right there.

Some of these giants can be truly scary simply because they are almost invisible in the roadside shrubs and trees. Several times, we came around a corner and ended up hearing shrieks and trumpets of indignation that we had dared to "startle" them like that, or worse, come between them and the rest of the herd.

Our outside kitchen at Bateleur camp where starlings and squirrels fed happily from our supplies, even those that were "safely" up in closed cupboards. The squirrels had chewed their own tunnels inside (we found out that later).
